a quilt for Jude

Jude is the 4 year old son of a woman in my prayer group. He is having brain surgery on Friday to remove a tumor that has been growing on the side of his head. I asked each member of my prayer group if they would write a message for Jude for a quilt that he could take with him. And, as a first in any quilt I have ever made, this quilt included a pocket so family members could tuck their own messages in the quilt for Jude to take with him. The pocket was inspired by a quote one of the ladies used on her block: "Suppose I carried my family around with me in my pocket, how many pockets should I need?" Winnie the Pooh
